Aaj Jhulan'dine dolonlaage, Tomar paran hele na.
আমার প্রাণের মাঝে সুধা আছে, চাও কি!
হায় বুঝি তার খবর পেলে না।
পারিজাতের মধুর গন্ধ পাও কি;
হায় বুঝি তার নাগাল মেলে না ॥
প্রেমের বাদল নামল, তুমি জানো না হায় তাও কি।
আজ মেঘের ডাকে তোমার মনের ময়ূরকে নাচাও কি।
আমি সেতারেতে তার বেঁধেছি আমি সুরলোকের সুর সেধেছি,
তারি তানে তানে মনে প্রাণে মিলিয়ে গলা গাও কি;
হায় আসরেতে বুঝি এলে না।
ডাক উঠেছে বারে বারে, তুমি সাড়া দাও কি!
আজ ঝুলনদিনে দোলন লাগে, তোমার পরান হেলে না ॥

My heart contains nectar; want it?
You don't seem to know.
The sweet fragrance of Night-Jasmines, do you get it?
You don't seem to have access to it.
The clouds of love descended; Ah, that too you don't seem to know.
Today at behest of rumbling clouds, can you make to dance the peacock in you.
My Sitaar-I've tuned, my tone to heavenly songs I've tuned.
In the same tune, tuning note and soul, will you too sing it?
Aah, you don't seem to have come to the show.
Beckons you time and again, would you respond to it?
Today, on Jhulan*, when swings the love-lord, does your soul sway to it?
